It honors past members of the Michigan Local Government Management Association who have been members of the Association for a significant number of years. Those honored have worked consistently and effectively to foster representative democracy by enhancing the effectiveness of local elected officials through innovative programs, projects, and by consistency in providing excellence in character and professionalism.
A person can only be eligible for nomination if he/she has been retired or deceased for at least three years before nomination. Also, the nominee must have been a member of MLGMA for a significant number of years.
Current Recipient: Mark Wollenweber, long-time city manager in numerous communities in Michigan for almost 40 years, was awarded the 2011 Patriarch Colloquium Award at the Michigan Municipal League’s annual conference in Grand Rapids.
