2011 Community Education Committee

 

Mission
To work with the educational community and publishers of educational materials on teaching
students civics and local government and the role of the city management therein.

 

Goals and Objectives
1. Continue to develop and promote the High School curriculum for local government.
2. Develop and fund a program for local government curriculum target at the middle school
level of youth.
3. Work with communities and universities to establish and encourage internship programs,
utilizing resources and promotional opportunities of the ICMA. Click HERE for a list of internship opportunities.
4. Work with local Michigan colleges on the Fellowship programs, attendance at the Winter
Institute, as well as other options to promote the manager-council form of government
and encourage students to review the profession as a positive opportunity.
